September 17 • Buna • The Buna Public Library will host a craft class at 10 a.m. at 1042 State Highway 62. Participants may bring any project they are working on. 18 • Jasper • CASA of the Sabine Neches Region will hold its annual Justice Is Served fundraiser from 7 to 9 a.m. at Elijah’s Cafe in Jasper. A full breakfast will be available for $12, with local dignitaries serving as celebrity waitstaff. Proceeds support CASA’s advocacy for children in foster care. 18 • Buna • The Buna Public Library will host Homeschool Hangout at 10:30 a.m. at 1042 State Highway 62. 19 • Buna • Buna High School will host its homecoming dance from 7 to 10 p.m. in the BHS cafeteria. All Buna High School students are invited. 19 • Kirbyville • The Kirbyville Police Department’s Santa’s Toy Box will host the Guns and Hoses Emergency Car Show at Magnolia Park. Activities will include an emergency vehicle show, Dam to Dam Poker Run, mud run, car show, food, drinks and live music. Admission and parking are free. The winning emergency department, selected by popular vote, will receive a $500 donation. 21 • Jasper • Jasper County Commissioners Court will convene in regular session at 9:30 a.m. at the Jasper County Courthouse, 121 North Austin Street. 24 • Buna • The Buna Public Library will host a craft class at 10 a.m. at 1042 State Highway 62. Participants may bring any project they are working on. 28 • Buna • The Friends of the Buna Public Library will meet at 6 p.m. at the library, 1042 State Highway 62. 29 • Jasper • Jasper High School’s homecoming activities will begin with the senior parade at 5:30 p.m. on Bulldog Avenue. A community pep rally will follow at 6 p.m., with a bonfire scheduled for 6:45 p.m. at the high school. 29 • Jasper • Communities Unlimited, the Jasper-Lake Sam Rayburn Area Chamber of Commerce and Collegiate Edu-Nation will host a free small-business workshop, “Why Small Businesses Get Stuck (And How to Break Through It),” from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the J.H. Rowe Resource Center, Building 1, 750 E. Gibson St.
